Our history

Historical

La Cave Sierroise opened its doors on rue du Bourg in 1947, in downtown Sierre, headed by Florine and Otto Pfyffer, aged 19 and 23 respectively. Although its main activity is the manufacture of artisanal lemonades, the company offers for sale a few minerals, beers and spirits.

Wanting to find a brand name for their own products, the couple of young entrepreneurs launch a competition in town. It is Mr. Cintere, with his proposal of Kouski who will emerge victorious! Maison Kouski is launched.

Florine and Otto Pfyffer buy a depot at Avenue Mercier de Molin 6, above which they will fit out a store, the office and their apartment.

The company gradually grew and became the depositary of all the major brands of mineral water and beer. The Pfyffers decide to devote themselves to the distribution of beverages, abandon artisanal lemonade and hire a first delivery driver.

Maison Kouski continues to grow and the premises on Avenue Mercier de Molin are becoming too cramped. In 1979, Otto Pfyffer bought a depot on Falcon Island to store the goods there.

Five years later, the office and the store also moved to the booming industrial zone of Sierre. This is an opportunity for the couple’s children to join the company and review the organization: Christian becomes head of operations, Marlyse takes over management of the office and her husband Germano is hired as head of sales. Marie-José completes the picture and brings her secretarial and accounting skills.
